Somatic Movement and Expressive Arts
I assist people who are:
-interested in personal growth and/or health improvement
-In processes of preparation, change or integration
-Living with injury, illness, disease
-healthcare professionals, educators, leaders, businesses, organizations, artists, performers
By guiding them in:
-Exploring embodiment through innate creativity
-Discovering and applying tools and resources for personal growth
-Navigating self and environment with increased awareness and ease
Often defined simply as mind/body practices, somatics typically reach beyond a "workout", stylized and/or competitive goal. I assist people in practicing the art of embodiment; approaching life and art from the perspective of the body; viewing and experiencing the world through the lens of the body. I provide resources on physical, emotional and mental levels and guide individuals in finding their own best answers through their innate creativity. My offerings are not all movement and the movement is not dance in the typical understanding of such. The process is intermodal- switching between drawing, movement, writing and creative dialogue with more focus on particular modalities depending on group or individual needs and interests. Absolutely no prior movement or arts experience is needed. My practice is informed by training in visual art, massage therapy, martial arts, chi gong, meditation, authentic movement, contact improvisation, butoh, postmodern, and mixed ability dance. Having a long relationship with my own creativity and healing, I am honored to guide and witness others. My offerings are primarily for adults. All bodies/abilities/backgrounds 18+ welcome. Scholarship available. ISMETA registered Tamalpa practitioner. Offerings are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric care.

in studio/outdoor "fieldwork"/on location/phone/zoom. 160$ hour/ 260$ two hours
